Ed Shanklin serves as Senior Consultant for Gavion and offers specific experience with public plans, educational endowments, healthcare and not-for-profit institutions. Ed earned an associate degree from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana in Engineering Technology with an emphasis on the Sugar Industry in 1985. Ed also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern University at New Orleans in 1992. Prior to joining Gavion, Ed served as an Investment Management Consultant with Equitas Capital Advisors, LLC in New Orleans with a focus on consulting for institutional clients including municipal advisory services. Prior to his tenure with Equitas, Ed has served in a variety of roles dealing with municipal finance and investments. In 1999, Ed served as founder and senior managing partner of Shanklin, Sonia, LLC, an investment banking firm. From 2004 to 2010, Ed served in the role of Infrastructure Investment Banker with Melvin Securities. In 2011, Ed worked as an investment banker with Grigsby Associates. Ed began his career in financial services with Precision Asset Management Company in Los Angeles, California in 1990. Ed currently serves as a board member for the Dryades YMCA, which oversees the James Singleton Elementary Charter School in New Orleans. Ed also serves on the Advisory Board of Directors to St. Augustine High School. Formerly, Ed has served as Chairman on the New Orleans Affordable Housing Board, served as a board member for National Community and Justice and also served as a board member for St. Joseph the Worker.
